After graduating with a bachelor's in fine arts (Dance Performance), he danced for a year with DDCdances under Barbara Selinger, applying the Limon technique he had learned from her. After a year of performing, Jonathon accepted an offer to teach ballet at Marygrove, where he also set a piece of choreography. During this time, he also studied under Sergey Rayevsky and Christina Kammuller. Leaving for Europe, Jonathon studied at Roehampton University in London where he earned a Post-graduate diploma in Ballet studies and began a four year solo career in London and other cities in the UK. During his time in "old Blighty" Jonathon had the chance to study under a variety of teachers, including Anna DuBoisson, Christina Mittelmeier, Ian Knowles and Emma Northmore. After returning to the US, Jonathon was pleased to rejoin the LaShelle's team and to apply the knowledge that he has gathered to the next generation of dance artists.
